Instructional Support Coach

One of the best ways to learn is with a partner!  In District 303, we are one of the few districts in the area fortunate enough to have Instructional Support Coaches at each elementary building to be partners-in-learning with any and all staff members.  Together, the ISC and colleague(s) learn and work to improve instruction through job-embedded professional development experiences.  ISCs have the opportunity to work in many classrooms and learning environments throughout the year.  The work of the Instructional Support Coaches happens within each building and throughout the district.

During their time together preparing for the 2017-2018 school year, the group of 12 elementary ISCs developed the following statements to help clarify their roles in the learning community:

ISC Core Values

As Instructional Support Coaches we value and celebrate…

  • Relationships based on trust and fostered through common goals and shared work.

  • Collaboration where all voices are heard and valued, learning is evident, and flexibility is honored.

  • Interdependence that builds the capacity of all team members and the system within which they work.

  • Student-focused instruction and decision-making based on evidence to be both proactive and responsive.

  • Growth that occurs through a cycle of feedback and reflection to build educator and student efficacy.
